Without microbial life in the soil all that exists is dirt
Dirt cannot deliver minerals to the plants because it is not in a biologically available condition, or it doesn’t have the microbiology to do so.
The bubbles of yeasts forming at the top of a Bio Fertiliser brew is the activity of the beneficial microbes digesting and transforming. Here the microbes are doing the work or activity of turning the seaweed into a state that is bio available to the plants, which means they turn the minerals into ‘particles’ in the right balance or ratio for the plants to use.
When synthetic fertilisers are applied, because of their strong urea content the soil microbiology becomes unbalanced and impaired. The plant then needs to uptake more water in order to circulate those (artificial) minerals around the plant. The plant subsequently fills up with water and ‘fake’ minerals which the human body cannot assimilate.
Many diseases today can be traced back to mineral deficiencies
Primary goal number one for human health is to improve the microbiology in the soil and then trust the work of our amazing and complex natural system to do exactly what is needed to provide us with whole nutrient dense food.
Making your own BioFertilisers is a great way to achieve this because it enables you to have the ability to provide a living liquid Plant food that not only feeds the plants but improves the integrity of your soil.
Happy gardening!
At the end of the day, farming is all about producing food. Blog author Sonja Kallio writes about supporting farmers and growers to adopt a regenerative approach with growing, to increase the nutrient density of food for a healthy population and a healthy planet.
