Don’t underestimate the power of this combination drink.  Lemon juice and cayenne pepper both have anti-fungal, immune boosting, and detoxifying properties.

Lemon is a natural detoxifier as vitamin C transforms toxins into digestible material. In addition to containing vitamin C, lemons are also packed with antioxidants and electrolytes including potassium, magnesium and calcium.  Lemon is also known to stimulate the liver’s natural enzymes and helps to oxygenate the body.

Cayenne pepper stimulates the circulatory system by opening the capillaries, aids digestion, and helps
regulate blood sugar.  It contains vitamins such as A, B6 and C.  Furthermore, and very importantly, it increases the temperature of your body and kick-starts your metabolism which can assist in natural weight loss.  Note; Be sure to always buy non-irradiated cayenne pepper since irradiation negates the health benefits of spices.

The combination of these two ingredients, lemons, though acidic, and cayenne pepper, though super-spicy, actually assist in neutralising the body’s pH by making it more alkaline.  The body’s pH is important for good health and pH imbalance has been attributed to numerous disorders as well as chronic illness.

This drink is also a great energy booster. When we wake up, our bodies are dehydrated. Rather than drinking coffee, which is a diuretic and further dehydrates the body, a large glass of (non-chlorinated water) followed by a warm lemon and cayenne pepper drink gives our bodies the hydration it needs with the added immune boosting perks of the lemon and cayenne pepper.

Mix a small amount (1/4 teaspoon) Cayenne Pepper with a half a squeezed Lemon and add hot water.  Adjust strength accordingly.  Additions may include honey for sweetening, grated ginger and even grated garlic.

Note; Cayenne Pepper is not like chilli it may burn a little but goes away quite quickly.

Stay well!
