FAQs
SONIC Biofertiliser Solutions FAQs
SONIC Liquid Fish and Seaweed Biological Fertilisers feed both your plants and your soil, so you get short-term growth support and long-term gains in soil health.
Farmers typically use them to:
- Give plants fast-available nutrients
- Feed and stimulate beneficial soil microbes
- Improve nutrient cycling in the soil
- Strengthen root development and crop resilience
- Build soil structure and long-term fertility
Fish is rich in organic nitrogen and amino acids that drive growth. Seaweed adds trace elements and natural plant compounds that help crops handle stress. Used together, they can cover both what your plants need now and what your soil needs long-term.

There are two ways to get started, depending on how much you use and how hands-on you want to be.
Option 1: Made-to-order (we make it for you)
$2.30–3.90/L, delivered to your farm as a ready-to-dilute liquid concentrate.
- Minimum order: 180L per product
- Freight quoted to your farm
- Made fresh to order, so allow 10–12 weeks
Best for smaller volumes, or if you’d like to try it before investing in your own system.

Option 2: DIY system (you make it on-farm)
Starter package from $1,885 for a 540L system, which works out to $1.80–3.50/L for your first batch.
Your starter package includes:
- Raw ingredients for your first batch: Australian organic dried seaweed, dried ocean fish and our proprietary starter cultures
- Assisted setup and 1:1 training (in person or by video)
- VIP support through your first three batches, with guaranteed results when the process is followed
Fermentation containers and pumps aren’t included. Most farmers save money by buying these locally, and we’ll help you work out what you need and where to get it. We can also supply them if you prefer.
After your first batch, ongoing production costs just $1.00–1.20/L.
Best for farms using larger volumes that want the lowest long-term cost and control over their own supply.

It mainly comes down to how much you use and how hands-on you want to be.
Made-to-order is the better fit if you:
- Use smaller volumes, or are trying biofertiliser for the first time
- Want a finished product delivered, ready to dilute and apply
- Don’t have the time or space to run your own batches
From $2.30–3.90/L, with a 180L minimum per product.
Making your own is the better fit if you:
- Use around 2,000L or more a year
- Want the lowest cost per litre (from $1.00–1.20/L after your first batch)
- Want to cut freight costs and rely less on outside supply
- Like the idea of producing fresh product on your own farm
Starter packages start from $1,885 for a 540L system, with 1:1 training and support through your first three batches.

Less than most farmers expect. No experience is needed, because we provide pre-measured ingredients, simple step-by-step procedures and one-on-one training.
Your time:
- About 1 hour to start a 1,000L batch
- About 1–1.5 hours to decant and clean down when it’s ready
- That’s roughly 2–2.5 hours of work per 1,000L, often less time than ordering, receiving and handling delivered product
Fermentation time:
Each batch takes about 10 weeks from start to decanting. During that time the microbes do the work, and there’s nothing for you to do except a quick check at the halfway point.
Training and support:
- A 1:1 training session (about 3 hours, in person or by video) as you start your first batch
- VIP support through your first three batches, including check-ins at week 5 and week 10, photo-based progress reviews, and phone and email help
- Guaranteed results on your first three batches when the process guidelines are followed
- Ongoing technical support for as long as your system is running

Your system is sized to match your spray program, so you produce the right amount on a regular 3-month cycle. You always have fresh product on hand without making more than you’ll use.
Standard system sizes:
- 540L (3 × 180L units), our starter system
- 1,080L (6 × 180L units)
- 2,160L (12 × 180L units)
- Larger farms: systems built with 900L units (IBC’s), sized to suit
To work out your size, we look at your total area, the products you use (fish, seaweed and livestock supplement), and your application rates and timing across the season.
Systems are scalable, so you can start small and add units as your production grows.

Yes. SONIC biofertilisers are 100% natural and can be added to most farming programs, whether you’re fully regenerative or just starting to cut back on synthetic inputs.
Works well with:
- Other natural inputs, such as compost, manures, biodynamic preparations and natural amendments
- Seed treatments, soil drenches and foliar sprays
Keep separate from:
- Synthetic fertilisers, urea and chemical-based products. Mixing them in the same tank reduces the benefit, because these products can harm the beneficial microbes in your biofertiliser.
Moving away from synthetics?
Many farmers bring biofertilisers in alongside their existing program, then gradually reduce synthetic inputs as soil biology improves. We can help you plan a transition that suits your farm and budget.
Yes. We supply farms across most regions of Australia, from our base in Dorrigo, NSW.
Made-to-order biofertiliser:
Freight is quoted to your farm based on your location and order size. Because you’re shipping finished liquid, freight can be a big part of the total cost, especially for remote farms or large volumes.
DIY systems:
We ship dried raw ingredients rather than liquid, which is much lighter and cheaper to freight. Containers and pumps can usually be bought locally, and training can be done by video, so wherever your farm is, you can get started.
Your quote will confirm freight costs and delivery timing for your area.
